In this work, the main results of the study of the features of professional identity and the degree of professional readiness manifestation in modern high school students are presented. The study was conducted in one of the schools in Moscow. It has involved a group of 70 school students of the 10th grades (26 boys and 44 girls). The results of the study made it possible to draw conclusions about the relationship between the manifestation of the components of professional readiness and the status of professional identity in modern high school students. Also, according to the fact of the conducted research, the relevance and necessity of psychological and pedagogical support in schools has been noted as an important task of developing the psychological readiness of high school students for professional self-determination. The results obtained can be used by teachers in correctional work, by educational psychologists in working with adolescents and in further social, pedagogical and psychological research aimed at professional self-determination of high school students.
