The author deals with the topical problems of advanced training of the teaching staff of universities. It is suggested that in the modern world, advanced training of a lecturer is a key condition for maintaining his/her professional competence and competitiveness in the market of highly qualified personnel. It is argued that amidst the digitalisation of science and education, improving innovation informational and communicative competencies is an important trend of professional development for university teaching staff. It has been proposed to organize a networked learning community in order to adapt the lecturers’ career development system to changing conditions and requirements.
