The author explores the phenomenon of false friends of translator, which can occur in various spheres and fields of knowledge. A classification of translation techniques for this phenomenon based on the work of V. N. Komissarov and supplemented by other authors is presented. A group of words forming polysemic and collocation “nests” has been singled out. The author gives examples of such “nests” with further analysis of translation, emphasizing the importance of context for the accurate determination of the meaning of false friends of translator.
