COMPETENCIES AND COMPETENCE OF EMPLOYEES: GENERAL AND SPECIFIC

Abstract:
This work presents the results of study aimed at analyzing approaches to the interpretation of the concepts of “competency” and “competence”, their relationship with each other, groupings of competencies, and developing the author’s definitions and classifications. As a result, it has been proposed to understand competency as a set of knowledge, abilities and skills in a certain field of activity, allowing it to be carried out effectively, and competence as the ability to achieve results, to carry out effective activities based on existing knowledge, abilities and skills. In conditions of real production, it is advisable to distinguish competencies by type of activity (highly specialized, managerial, general) and by level of complexity (simple and complex).
