In this work, the comparative analysis of the data on the level of physical preparedness of second-year male students of the National Research University of Electronic Technology in 100 m and 1000 m race and in pull-ups from hanging on a high bar in the period of 2022—2023 and students of Russian universities in the period of 1978—1982 is carried out. Trends in the development of endurance, speed and strength qualities of students over the last 45 years have been investigated. Based on the comparative analysis, recommendations for improving the development indicators of physical qualities of modern students are given.
