The concept and the main directions of the state innovation policy realization are discussed. The structure of innovation governance and the regulatory framework are analyzed, and international experience in managing innovation processes at the state level is observed. The authors considered the main directions of the state policy in the field of innovation the US, China and the European Union. In conclusion, recommendations to improve the mechanism of management of innovative activity in the Russian Federation are given.
