The author examines the influence of the gaming needs of individuals as representatives of society on their interaction with each other using the example of one of the types of chess games: Fischer random chess. An analysis of this type of game was conducted within a historical context and at the present stages. The reasons behind Fischer random chess being more attractive and socially adapted version of chess game are identified. Expanded social role of type of game under consideration has been substantiated.
